Jönsson & Hunner

Biodiversity has always interested Maibritt Jönsson and Pete Hunner.  “Southwest American Indian corn brings beauty in multiplicity. The grandeur of nature makes it hard to see the forest for the trees… a detail here and there, a color… no,
ten different ones, at least.”  The connection with these Danish artists that DAFA made was quite extraordinary. As we came
to learn, they already had a deep connection with New Mexico.  Rarely has this work ever been available in the U.S.

Each kernel is an individual fused glass artwork. Then the pieces are arranged and fused again together. There is a “kernel side” and a “germ side” to each element, meticulously honoring each seed.
